Harrop Engineering is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive program involving the design and procurement of our own range of USA billet based camshafts and valve-train components.

The new camshaft range is a Harrop Engineering exclusive, utilising the experience gained during 60+ years of involvement at the leading edge of automotive performance upgrades, with grind designs specific to the LS range of engines as fitted to many VT to VF model Commodore and HSV models.

The H01 is the perfect camshaft upgrade for naturally aspirated applications, giving a you a nice lumpy idle and a healthy increase in engine performance, due to it's narrower LSA and longer duration. The H01 will work with standard diff ratio's but would see greater driving performance when coupled with 3.7 or 3.9:1 diff ratio. The H01 can be used in supercharged applications but boost pressure will be reduced due to the tighter LSA although this can be easily addressed by changing supercharger pulley size when the cam is installed.

H01 Camshaft Specs: 226°/232°- 0.607”/0.602” - 112°

 

The H02 is an excellent all round grind that suits both naturally aspirated and supercharged applications, offering a nice lumpy idle without compromising driveability. The H02 is fine for supercharged applications with standard diff ratios, but if you have a naturally aspirated vehicle, you will see much improved driving performance when coupled with a higher ratio, say 3.7 or 3.9:1 in manual and 3.45:1 in automatic vehicles. Automatic vehicles with the H02 would also benefit from transmission cooler, and manual owners should consider upgrading their clutch for durability.

H02 Camshaft Specs: 224°/232°- 0.609”/0.610” - 114°

Harrop H03 - If you have a naturally aspirated, manual vehicle and you are after maximum performance gains then the Harrop H03 is for you. This camshaft has aggressive idle characteristics with the performance to match, it is perfectly coupled with a higher diff ratio, manual transmission and our Harrop Carbon Series 3" exhaust system and 4-1 headers. This is the largest camshaft we recommend for LS1 applications and if you have an automatic transmission you will need to upgrade the torque converter to maintain driveability.

H03 Camshaft Specs: 232°/233°- 0.609”/0.602” - 112°

 

The Harrop H04 camshaft is the largest of our supercharger grinds, giving you the biggest increase in performance but still maintaining acceptable levels of 'around town' driveability. The power increase is substantial and will require other modifications to ensure that you maintain vehicle reliability. Fuel system and cooling will need to be considered and coupling this with one of our high flow Carbon Series exhaust systems is a must.

H04 Camshaft Specs: 234°/238°- 0.593”/0.595” - 114°

 

The Harrop H05 camshaft is an excellent entry level supercharger grind due to it's wider LSA, which also makes it perfect for those with naturally aspirated vehicles who want to maintain relatively smooth idle characteristics, but still benefit from an increase in engine performance. This cam will work well with standard torque converter and diff ratios, so for those on tighter budget this is the perfect option that doesn't require additional expense to get the most out of.

H05 Camshaft Specs: 216°/224°- 0.593”/0.592” - 116°

Harrop H06 - If you have a supercharged vehicle and want to maintain a nice smooth idle but enjoy an increase in engine performance, then the H06 is a great option for you. The perfect accompaniment to this camshaft is our Harrop Carbon Series exhaust and 4-1 headers, which will ensure you get the most from your upgrade. When fitting this camshaft you should consider upgrading your clutch or torque converter, and automatic vehicles would also benefit from transmission cooling. As with most performance upgrades the fuel system will need to be considered and possibly upgraded depending on your specific vehicle setup.
